to Grade 10!
My name is Jaimie Deobald and I am the grade 10 teacher at Cornwall Alternative School. I am 28 years old and have been teaching for 5 years. I love teaching but like everyone have different strengths and weaknesses. My favourite subject to teach is math, I love watching my students understand concepts and encouraging everyone to learn at their own pace. As a student, my favourite subjects were Visual Art and Phy Ed.
A little about me:
I love sports, my three favourites right now: soccer, karate, and snowboarding.
I like music and I teach piano.
I have a crazy dog who causes lots of trouble.
I was married last winter in Mexico.
I work hard at being a good teacher and I expect my students to try hard to be good students.
If you would like to contact me at any time, please feel free to phone the school: 306-522-0044 or text me at 306-529-3418.
This is your first grade 10 assignment for the year.
How can music express our identity? This is the question that the grade 10s are about to answer.
Each student is creating his or her own CD or playlist with five to ten songs that showcase some unique aspect of his or her identity. Each song requires a minimum of a two sentence write up explaining how it connects to the student's life. THIS IS NOT A COLLECTION OF YOUR FAVOURITE SONGS, THESE SHOULD BE SONGS THAT
EXPLAIN ABOUT YOUR LIFE
. These songs should be from different artists and/or composers in order to fully represent that variety that is your life. Bonus song on the end should be the student's favourite song. :)
Each student should create a piece of CD cover art to go with their identity CD.
Here are some of many sites you can go to that allow you to listen to free music:
You do not need to provide the actual burnt cd for the assignment.
